CTP Systems dBbox2 Loader and device drivers.

First unzip the loader and device drivers to a convenient location.

Install the dBbox2 loader program by running 'setup.exe'. The loader will install to 'Programs'.
If you are asked if you want to replace system files/.dlls etc. the correct answer is always that you don't want to.
If you are using XP then this probably won't happen many times, with Vista, W7 or 8 it will happen more.

Important: Make sure the dBbox2 on/off switch is set to OFF all through this process.

When the loader is installed connect your dBbox2 via USB cable.
If you are asked for drivers they are located in the 'windows drivers' directory you downloaded. If you need 64 bit drivers they are located in the directory unsurprisingly called ’windows 64 bit drivers’.
In 90% of cases the drivers will install with no intervention.
When drivers are installed unplug the dBbox2. You need not do this again with the same PC.

Now download the latest dBbox2 firmware from the support page on our website. When downloaded run the dBbox2 loader program on your PC.
Select 'import update' and point it to your downloaded dBbox2 firmware.

With the dBbox2 USB unplugged and the unit switched OFF, press the ‘select’ button on your dBbox2 and plug the USB in while still holding down the ‘select’ button.

The display will be blank but the display backlight will start to flash. Let go of the ‘select’ button.
Wait up to 10 seconds for your computer to recognise the dBbox2.
Select 'send update to dBbox2’ and wait while the progress bar fills up. If the progress bar stalls just wait (unlikely) it will finish.

If for any reason the update fails the dBbox2 will not appear to work. Unplug the USB, hold down the 'select' button and plug the USB in. The display will flash, release the 'select' button
and start again from 'wait up to 10 seconds' as above.

Unplug your dBbox2 from the computer and after a few seconds switch on.
Check the software version has changed to the new version. If you have any problems with the new firmware please let us know so that we can rectify.
